For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic…Tempur Pedic Headquarters …the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for a number of weeks in my own home. These mattresses were likewise assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I have actually interviewed ratings of experts in the bed mattress market and in materials science; checked out dozens of bed mattress showrooms, stores, and factories; and pored over the small print on specifications, guarantees, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g10ThFEgbwIUnderstanding Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with a choice of firmness levels and dealing with almost every convenience preference– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Tempur Pedic Headquarters
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid designed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. But we do understand that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva promotes such extras as zoned layers for “optimal spine assistance”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and durable foams and coils.
