For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic…Shredded Memory Foam Mattress Topper …the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for a number of weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were also examined in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I have actually interviewed scores of professionals in the mattress industry and in materials science; visited lots of bed mattress shops, display rooms, and factories; and pored over the fine print on specs, guarantees, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for a number of weeks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g10ThFEgbwIUnderstanding Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with a choice of firmness levels and catering to almost every comfort choice– includes: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Shredded Memory Foam Mattress Topper
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid developed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environment-friendly” brands. However we do understand that the business utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (instead of chemicals or fiberglass) and just organic cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column assistance”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and resilient foams and coils.
