For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic…Saatva Mattress Commercial Goldilocks …the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for a number of weeks in my own house. These mattresses were likewise evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. We do know that the company uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and just natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva promotes such bonus as zoned layers for “optimal spinal column support”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and durable foams and coils.
