For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic…Memory Foam Mattress 3 Inches …the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also evaluated in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff author for sleep, I have actually spoken with ratings of specialists in the mattress market and in products science; visited lots of mattress showrooms, shops, and factories; and read the small print on specs, guarantees, and return policies. Most just recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for a number of weeks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g10ThFEgbwIMaking sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– numerous with a choice of firmness levels and dealing with nearly every convenience choice– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Memory Foam Mattress 3 Inches
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid created for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. However we do know that the business uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and just organic cotton (instead of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimal spinal column support”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and durable foams and coils.
