For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic…Ikea Sultan Blunda …the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for a number of weeks in my own house. These bed mattress were also evaluated in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I have actually spoken with scores of professionals in the bed mattress market and in materials science; visited lots of bed mattress factories, display rooms, and stores; and read the fine print on requirements, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for several weeks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g10ThFEgbwIUnderstanding Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– lots of with an option of firmness levels and dealing with practically every comfort preference– includes: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Ikea Sultan Blunda
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid designed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. We do know that the business utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva promotes such extras as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column support”; we’re less amazed with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and durable foams and coils.
