For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic…Ikea 80X200 Mattress …the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own house. These mattresses were likewise examined in our group tests performed for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I have actually interviewed scores of professionals in the mattress industry and in materials science; gone to dozens of bed mattress factories, display rooms, and shops; and read the small print on requirements, guarantees, and return policies. Most recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for several weeks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g10ThFEgbwIMaking sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– many with a choice of firmness levels and dealing with almost every convenience choice– includes: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Ikea 80X200 Mattress
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid designed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. However we do understand that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (rather than chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva promotes such additionals as zoned layers for “optimal spinal column assistance”; we’re less satisfied with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer service and durable foams and coils.
