For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic…Envirosleep Dream Mattress Topper …the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for numerous weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam bed mattress and the best innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve interviewed ratings of professionals in the bed mattress industry and in materials science; gone to lots of mattress shops, display rooms, and factories; and read the small print on specs, warranties, and return policies. Most recently, supervising editor Courtney Schley examined the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for numerous weeks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g10ThFEgbwIMaking sense of Saatva Saatva’s portfolio of beds– lots of with a choice of firmness levels and accommodating almost every comfort preference– consists of: Saatva Classic ( innerspring).
Loom & Leaf ( all foam).
Zenhaven ( all latex).
Saatva Latex Hybrid ( latex with coils).
Solaire ( a bed with adjustable air chambers). Envirosleep Dream Mattress Topper
Saatva HD ( a latex-coil hybrid developed for sleepers who weigh 300 to 500 pounds).
Saatva Youth ( a foam-coil hybrid for kids ages 3 through 12).
We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brands. We do understand that the business utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress business, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “optimum spine support”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and resilient foams and coils.
