J. JOSHUA DILTZ

J. Joshua Diltz is a Native American photographer/filmmaking living and working in Seattle, Washington. Having a previous background in the motion picture industry, a passion for the visual arts, knowledge in advanced graphics, animation, editing, and compositing software he has used his talent to compete in the emerging medium of Machinima.

He Began to experiment with Machinima in 2004 following the release of the MMORPG World of Warcraft. He's early work involved simply using the video capturing program Fraps to record real-life actors emoting behind in-game avatars within Blizzard's artistically stunning online world. He has since evolved into using 3D rendered models and custom art to make his movies.

As Machinima develops, so do the tools of the craft. Diltz is highly experienced using Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Audition, SoundBooth, Photoshop, Illustrator, and 3D Max Studio. In addition to his Machinima work, Diltz has worked on major studio film projects serving as a Grip Electric and Camera Assistant. He has also edited, composite and animated academic fundraising presentations for the University of Washington Study Abroad Program. Diltz has experience in stage and voicing acting, and is an experienced public storyteller. He has hosted and performed in multi-media storytellings for major bookstores and local elementary schools.

Diltz has won numerous awards and his work has appeared in international film festivals including Blizzcon 2005 and 2008, Xfire's Summer Film Festival, The International Machinima Expo, and most recently in Machinima Premieres Online Film Festival and at FileRio 2009. His films have also been shown academically at Stanford University, The University of Washington, and also on MTV.

Diltz is continuing to pursue his interests in the visual arts; in film, animation, gaming, and documentary. He is highly motivated and the perfect choice if you are working on a project that requires polish and artistic flair. He is always on a sharp look out for new ideas, projects, and ways to contribute and collaborate with others in the international arts community.
